Quick and Easy Appetizers

It's been a pretty busy Friday in my house! We have two family Christmas get-togethers this weekend with family members staying the night at my house in between. My plan for the next few posts is to share some of my favorite easy go-to recipes for appetizers, breakfast casseroles, and my all-time favorite chili recipe since most of my day has consisted around cooking these things! Stay tuned for some yummy ideas :)

Today's Tonight's post is going to showcase some of my favorite appetizers when you need to throw something together quickly that also is tasty! Whenever I am invited to a party and have to bring food, I am always asked to make dips, which does not bother me because they are easy and delicious!

Easy Taco Dip
-1 package of cream cheese, softened (can sub low fat)
-1 16oz container of sour cream (can sub low fat)
-1 package of taco seasoning
-1 jar of salsa
-2 cups of Mexican blend shredded cheese

Directions
-Combine cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning in a bowl and mix well
-Pour mixture into a glass pie plate
-Cover mixture with salsa
-Top with shredded cheese
-Serve with tortilla chips

That's it! So simple and so delicious. It will be gone within minutes.

Pizza Dip
-1 package of cream cheese, softened (can sub low fat)
-1/2 cup of sour cream (can sub low fat)
-1/4 t oregano
-1/4 t garlic salt
-1/4 t ground red pepper
-3/4 cup pizza sauce
-1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
-1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions
-Combine cream cheese, sour cream, spices and mix well
-Spread into glass pie plate
-Pour pizza sauce over the top
-Sprinkle pepperoni
-Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes
-Add cheese and bake 10 more minutes
-Serve with Fritos

This is another one of my most requested dips. My uncle requests this one four Fourth of July every single year.

Chili Cheese Dip
-1 package of cream cheese, softened (can sub low fat)
-1 15oz can Hormel Chili (can get with or without beans- your preference)
-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (can do low fat/fat free)

Directions
-Spread cream cheese evenly on the bottom of a glass pie plate
-Add the chili on top of the cream cheese
-Top with cheese
-Microwave for four minutes, then microwave for an additional 1-2 minutes until cheese is completely melted
-Serve with tortilla chips

I see a theme here... lots of cream cheese and pie plates... not a problem ;)
