As you may already know, I am a huge fan of CrockPot Sundays. I came across a recipe for one of my favorite foods that was CrockPot style and I have been dying to try it, but I needed to wait until ribs were on sale because they are hella expensive.
CrockPot BBQ Ribs
Ingredients
-1-2 racks of ribs
-1 can of Dr. Pepper
-BBQ Sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray's)
-Salt
-Pepper
-Slow Cooker Liner
Directions
-Line your CrockPot with a slow cooker liner. I bought a two pack at the dollar store since it is not something I use often.
-Put your ribs in the CrockPot
-Pour in the can of Dr. Pepper
-Cook on low for 8 hours
-After 8 hours, drain out the soda
-In the CrockPot, cover the ribs with a good amount of BBQ sauce
-Cook for another hour on high
-Then they will be tender and ready to serve!
Another recipe I will be including in this post and making for dinner tonight is for homemade crispy baked fries because they are so much better than the store bought kind (and better for you because they aren't fried!)
Crispy Oven Fries
Ingredients
-1 potato per person
-your own desired seasonings
-1-2 tbsp olive oil
Directions
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees
-Wash and peel potatoes
-Cut off the ends and slice into fries
-Soak fries in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes-1 hout
-Drain water, rinse fries, and set them on paper towels to dry
-Blot away any excess moisture with additional paper towels
-Place fries into a dry bowl and toss with olive oil and seasonings
-Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray
-Place fries in a single layer on the baking sheet with no overlap
-Bake for 15 minutes, flip over fries, and bake for an additional 15
-After that, bump the oven up to 425 degrees, and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the ends start to brown
-Sprinkle with a little more seasoning and serve!
SO good!
