The Great Car Debate

I've had my precious little 2001 VW Jetta since I first started driving. I love my little car to death, but it's getting older and starting to have a lot more issues than it normally has. My parents told me after I graduated college, I could sell a portion of my stocks and buy myself a new car with that money, whatever my car is worth, and whatever money I get for graduation. Since that discussion. I have slowly started to look around (autotrader.com is my BFF) on websites for what I might be interested in. Here are a couple of the debates I've had going on with myself over the last few weeks:

Also, feel free to comment and let me know your car buying experiences :)

1. Sedan vs. SUV:
I've wanted a Jeep since I could first say the damn word. I've always loved the rugged but stylish look they have, but they are more pricey for a base model than a sedan with bells and whistles. I would also love to having four wheel drive as an option- in case, ya know, I don't find a man to settle down with, and have to go somewhere in the snow and ice during the winter, but then again, my dad or brother can always come to my rescue.

2. Can I live without a sunroof?
My Jetta has a sunroof, and neither of my parents' cars had sunroofs growing up, so this was my first experience with one, and I don't know that I would be able to do without it. It's so much better (and less noisy) than having your windows down, and it just makes driving so much more fun.

3. Bluetooth
My cousin recently got a new car, and like the sunroof, it had Bluetooth which I had never experienced before. You can answer calls directly from a button on your steering wheel instead of having to pick up the phone, and the person on the other end can hear you perfectly. I was fascinated. Never before had I checked to see if the cars I was looking at had that as an option, but it will definitely be a perk as I continue on my car search journey.

Some of the cars I am looking at- Nissan Altima, Nissan Sentra, Chevrolet Cruze, Jeep Patriot, Jeep Liberty, and Hyundai Elantra.

Ultimately, my car decision is going to come down to whatever feels right at that moment, and for the right price :)
