How I Keep My Hair Long, Strong, & Healthy

Up until my freshman year of college, I had never let my hair grow past my shoulders. I only trust one person to cut my hair, and being away from home allowed me to not get it cut as often, so therefore it started to grow, and I fell in love with the length. Now, I'm scared to go any shorter, because I am in love with the length it is now, so I have to work hard in order to keep it healthy. Sometimes it can be hard to manage because it's also thick and wavy.

My first tip- don't wash your hair every day. I try to get two days out of my hairstyle before I wash it again. I have noticed a huge difference in the health of my hair and how fast it grows just from doing this. If you have trouble with your hair getting greasy- I am not a fan of dry shampoo, but I have a ton of luck with using baby powder instead.

Deep Condition- I deep condition my hair once a week using this product which I have also raved about in other posts- here and here :) My hair feels amazing afterwards and looks even better.

Minimize your heat usage- I tend to shower at night so I don't have to wake up earlier in the morning. My hair also takes forever to blow dry and then needs to be styled afterwards, so it's just a hot mess. Literally. I try to only use heat on my hair twice a week, and wear it for two days. Leftover curls after the first day are my fave. When my hair isn't styled, I usually go to bed with it in a loose french braid and let it out in the morning. I have never had any issues with this so it is definitely my go-to hairstyle.

Anti-Breakage Serum- I love Organix products, and this one is probably my absolute favorite because it also does a great job at keeping split ends away. You can also find more about it in this post :)

Only use a wide tooth comb on wet hair. This has helped me so much. Brushing my hair white it was soaking wet after a shower made it more prone to breakage. I've noticed a huge difference since I've switched to a comb.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
