1. Don't ever pay for basketball tickets. Sure the advertised season ticket price is nice, but chances are, most games are not going to sell out, and you're going to be able to get last minute tickets for free.
2. You and your high school "sweetheart" will try the long distance thing and realize it's not for you. When you're in high school, you think your relationship is perfect and it's going to last through your four years of college and you and your sweetheart will end up married and find your happy ever after. This is not the case for most couples, but if you two can survive college, then congrats because a lot of relationships can't make it.
3. You'll lose friends, but you'll also gain them too. While I lost touch with lots of high school friends, I kept up with a few and I can honestly say they are my true best friends. Making friends in college can be difficult at times, but they can also turn into lifelong friendships.
4. That one D you got in that awful class? It won't even matter once you walk across the stage and receive your diploma. No employer is going to care that you did poorly in a gen. ed. class, much less even look over your transcripts.
5. It really sucks when all of your friends are getting acceptances to big name graduate schools, and you can't even get a response to an email regarding your application to the small one you applied to. ---This is me right now. Trying to be patient, but I kind of want to know if I need to apply to other schools.
6. You don't have to have your whole life planned out. I have and always will be a planner, and rarely has anything gone the way I have planned for it to go. I was lucky enough to know what field I wanted to go into before starting college. My routes to the final destination have changed many times, but I will get there eventually. I'm trying to enjoy the journey.
7. Never turn down that 2am slice of pizza, Waffle House, or Taco Bell. It may not feel like a good decision when you wake up in the morning, but I promise one bad meal won't make or break your diet.
8. Get into an exercise routine and stick with it. Sadly, I waited until my last year of undergrad before finding this out, but I am enjoying it and feeling better than ever.
9. Enjoy every second- because college will be over before you know it! Less than 80 days for me.
Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
