Cheap Valentine's Dates

Can you believe it's already February?! You know what that means- time for Valentine's Day posts! My first Valentine's post this month is for couples, and then I have another one planned for the single ladies (aka me) with fun ideas also!

Fancy Valentine's Day dates can be difficult on a college budget. But who really wants to take the time to get dressed up and then have to wait over an hour just to be seated at a restaurant? There are lots of ways to still have a cute, romantic, and memorable date without having to break the bank.

I'm a single girl that is a sucker for some romance, so here are some of my ideas of some great Valentine's day dates :)

1. Homemade Dinner & Redbox- What's better than going out to eat? Staying in to eat while cuddled up with your significant other on the couch in front of a fire. It's a hell of a lot cheaper to make dinner and rent a movie from Redbox than it is to go out and do the exact same thing. Plus, you don't even have to put on fancy clothes. Hello sweatpants! Some yummy dinner ideas for this include spaghetti, chicken parm, or steak and baked potatoes.

2. Stargazing Picnic- This is probably a dream date of mine that I am hoping will happen in my life eventually ;) Pack (or pick up) dinner for two then head out to a secluded place in the country with your man and stargaze while wrapped in blankets in the bed of his pickup truck. How cute would that be?!

3. Progressive Dinner with other couples- I've never done one of these, but I think it would be a lot of fun! Happy hour, dinner & dessert all at different couples' places while getting to hang out with some of your best friends!

4. Happy Hour & Games- Invite other couples over for some mixed drinks, appetizers, and some games. Cards Against Humanity anyone?

5. Old School- Act like kids again for one night! Head to your local kids fun center, skating rink or whatever and spend the evening skating, playing arcade games and eating that awful skating rink pizza you used to love as a kid.

6. Melting Pot: At Home- Have a fondue night with shrimp and steak, as well as chocolate and strawberries for dessert! No need to wait in line and pay outrageous prices when you can do the same thing at home!

These are just some of the ideas I have had over the last few weeks! I'd love you hear your Valentine's Day plans!
