Living Room So Far and Ideas

Being totally honest, my living room has the worst layout. It's basically a long skinny rectangle, and the cable plug is in a terrible spot, which means I could really only set it up one way. The before picture below I took from the real estate website because of course I am terrible at remembering to take before pictures.

If you notice, there is NO overhead lighting! I am still getting used to it. The first thing I did was paint the walls, and it is the same color as what is in my kitchen, Valspar Comet Dust from Lowes. 

Another must have for my living room was a fireplace. I got a great deal on this fireplace from Bed, Bath, and Beyond (with a coupon!) but it is also available on Wayfair 

I am going to refrain from showing you the rest of my living room because I don't think anyone wants to see my old orange couches and chewed up coffee table, but I will show you my ideas and pieces I am looking to purchase.

I love the look of a dark couch with light walls and light colored pillows. I have been looking at a ton of couches trying to figure out what I want, and I found a beautiful sectional for an awesome price.

I also want to add the recliner and ottoman. I can picture a cozy reading nook with that recliner right now! In terms of rugs, I have just discovered RugsUSA and I am amazed with how good the prices are! This is the rug I am looking at getting to complete my living room.
