My First Big Girl Purchase!

Well after many months of stress and excitement, I can finally say that I made my first big girl purchase and bought a car- a Hyundai Sonata!

The first thing I will say is that this is a long, long process. I never understood why my dad was stressing to me the importance of finding a car local rather than going to another city for a better price. It took me five days to purchase this car. I went to the dealership on a Saturday to test drive the car. I went with my mom and I immediately fell in love with the car, but I needed to show it to my dad. The salesman let me take it home for the weekend to try it out and also to show it to my dad. By that point, I was going to do everything possible to make this car mine. It had everything I wanted and more than I could ever possibly need.

So I get home, and my dad loves it, and decides that if I'm okay with it, then he is okay with it. It was a little more expensive than I was looking to spend, but it will be worth it to have something I love and will be able to use for a long time. Later that night, I took it on the highway to take my brother to his friend's house. I got it up to 75-80 mph and the wheel starts shaking uncontrollably. Once I got home, I had my dad take it out, and he said we needed to get them to fix it and then drive it again. Of course, I got emotional because I thought the car was perfect and then this happens.

I took it back to the dealership once I got off work on Monday and told them what was going on. They said no problem and they would get it fixed and give me a call once it was done. The next morning, as I am walking into work at 9:00, I get a call telling me that the car is fixed. I was amazed at how quick the service was. I went that afternoon after work with my dad, and we drove it and made a purchase! Since it was so late in the evening by the time we got everything done, the detail guy had left for the day, so they kept the car overnight in order to get it cleaned up for me.

Even though this was a long and tiring process, I am so happy with my car. It has some super cool options and a ton of space, and not to mention great gas mileage. It feels so good knowing I worked hard to save money for this and now it is finally mine!

Have a great weekend, friends!
